A study by scientists has revealed the discovery of new fossil remains between rocks in the Moroccan desert of an African savage, scientific name (Spianosaurus erectiacus), which is 15 meters long and weighs seven tons. A discovery that may reveal the shape and behavior of an animal that preyed on dinosaurs.
The study added that it was longer than the giant dinosaur (Tyrannosaurus rex) by two and a half and almost equal in size. The Sibianosaurus, which lived 95 million years ago during the Cretaceous / Cretaceous period, is the only known species among dinosaurs living between land and sea
In addition, Spianosaurus was the only known dinosaur predator with four legs, unlike the dinosaurs like Tyrannosaurus Rex and Giganotosaur in their traditional legs. Because it was characterized by the relative shortness of its limbs, the robustness of its front structure, the elasticity of the tail and the flat back feet that may have been used for swimming, Spinyosaurus may have been able to go into the waterways to strike at sea creatures.
The elongation and accuracy of the jaws and conical teeth made it possible to easily catch the viscous fish, and its back was topped by a forklike bone-shaped formations similar to the sail of the boat adhering to its skin length of one fork.
"This animal is unlike any predator of dinosaurs," said Nizar Ibrahim, an ancient biologist at the University of Chicago who supervised the study, which is reported by the journal Science. "It is unparalleled in our time and looks like a whole new species of animals. Spianosaurus spread terror in a wide range of river regions in North Africa, stretching from Morocco to Egypt. The biologist Ibrahim added that perhaps Spianosaurus was not very agile on the ground but was equipped with other dinosaurs from time to time
